These Candy Cane Chocolate Dipped Pretzels combine crunchy, salty pretzels with creamy Belgian white chocolate and festive crushed peppermint candy canes. A quick and easy no-bake holiday treat that’s perfect for Christmas parties, edible gifts, and festive snacking.

Ingredients

  • 36 pretzels
  • 150g/5ozs Belgian white chocolate
  • 2 teaspoon coconut oil, optional but recommended
  • 4 candy canes
  • Salt for sprinkling, fine or flaked

Instructions

  1. Line a large baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Place the candy canes in a sealed plastic bag and gently crush them using a rolling pin until you have small peppermint pieces. Transfer to a shallow bowl.
  3. Break the Belgian white chocolate into small pieces and place in a microwave-safe bowl with the coconut oil, if using.
  4. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Alternatively, melt over a double boiler on low heat.
  5. Dip each pretzel halfway into the melted white chocolate, allowing any excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl.
  6. Immediately sprinkle the chocolate-coated portion with crushed candy canes and a small pinch of fine or flaked salt.
  7. Place the decorated pretzels on the prepared baking tray, ensuring they do not touch.
  8. Repeat with the remaining pretzels until all are dipped and decorated.
  9. Allow the chocolate to set at room temperature for approximately 15 minutes, or refrigerate for 5–10 minutes until firm.
  10. Once the chocolate has hardened, transfer the pretzels to a serving platter or package them in airtight containers for gifting.

Notes

  • Use good-quality Belgian white chocolate for the smoothest coating and best flavor.
  • Coconut oil helps thin the melted chocolate, making dipping easier and creating a smoother finish.
  • Crush the candy canes into small pieces rather than fine powder for the best texture and festive appearance.
  • Sprinkle the crushed candy canes immediately after dipping, before the chocolate begins to harden.
  • For extra decoration, drizzle the finished pretzels with melted dark or milk chocolate.
  • Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 1 week, provided the pretzels remain crisp.
  • Avoid humid storage conditions, which can make the candy cane pieces sticky and soften the pretzels.
  • For edible Christmas gifts, package the pretzels in clear cellophane bags tied with festive ribbon.
  • For a gluten-free variation, use certified gluten-free pretzels and check that the chocolate and candy canes are gluten-free.
