Ingredients
1 Bag of Wavy/Ruffle Potato Chips
Pretzel Sticks
6 Ounces of Red Chocolate Candy Melts
2 Ounces Green Chocolate Candy Melts
Instructions
Place the red chocolate candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second increments, stirring between each interval, until completely melted and smooth.
Dip the potato chips completely into the melted red chocolate. Use a fork or clean, gloved hands to remove each chip, gently shaking off the excess chocolate. Place on parchment paper and allow to set for about 5-7 minutes.
Dip each pretzel stick about three-quarters of the way into the melted red chocolate.
Turn the set chocolate-covered chips over. Place a freshly dipped pretzel stick onto the back of each chip to create the apple stem. Allow to set for about 5 minutes.
Melt the green chocolate candy melts using the same microwave method. Transfer the melted green candy to a piping bag and cut a small hole in the tip.
Turn the chips front-side up. Pipe a small upside-down teardrop-shaped leaf at the top of each chip next to the pretzel stem. Allow the leaves to set for about 3 minutes before serving.
Notes
Choose large, intact wavy or ruffled potato chips for the easiest dipping and decorating.
Microwave candy melts in short intervals to prevent scorching.
Allow each chocolate layer to set before handling the treats to prevent smudging.
Store finished treats in an airtight container at cool room temperature.
