This Dill Pickle Cheese Log is a creamy, savory appetizer coated with crunchy pretzels, tangy gherkins, and fresh dill. Finished with a drizzle of honey, it is the perfect balance of salty, tangy, and sweet flavors for entertaining or snacking.

Ingredients

  • 300 g Boursin cheese or soft goat cheese
  • 60 g gherkins, finely chopped
  • 30 g pretzels, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped
  • Honey, for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Place a sheet of plastic wrap on a work surface and transfer the cheese to the center. Wrap and shape it into a log.
  2. Refrigerate the cheese log for 30 to 40 minutes or freeze for 10 minutes until slightly firm.
  3. In a bowl, combine the chopped gherkins, crushed pretzels, and dill.
  4. Spread the coating mixture evenly onto a clean board or plate.
  5. Unwrap the chilled cheese log and gently roll it in the mixture, pressing lightly so the coating adheres evenly, including the ends.
  6. Reshape the log if necessary and drizzle generously with honey.
  7. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Serve with crackers, toasted baguette slices, or fresh vegetables.
  • For extra tang, add a small splash of pickle brine to the coating mixture.
  • The cheese log can be prepared a day in advance and stored refrigerated.
  • Use gluten-free pretzels if needed for a gluten-free variation.
