Juicy bone-in chicken thighs coated with smoky BBQ seasoning and baked until crisp, flavorful, and tender. An easy dry-rub chicken dinner with minimal prep.
Preheat the oven to 400F. Line a large baking tray with a wire rack.
Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and arrange them evenly on the wire rack with the skin side facing down.
Lightly spray the bottom of each thigh with olive oil cooking spray and sprinkle about 1/4 teaspoon of BBQ seasoning on each.
Flip the chicken thighs over. Lightly spray the skin with cooking spray and sprinkle about 3/4 teaspoon of BBQ seasoning on each. Rub the seasoning into the chicken with your fingers.
Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and reaches an internal temperature of 165 to 175F.
Notes
Two pounds is approximately 6 to 8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs.
Use your favorite BBQ seasoning or dry rub.
For the juiciest dark meat, check doneness with an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part without touching the bone.
