This easy Halloween Snack Mix combines crunchy popcorn, cereal, pretzels, peanuts, colorful candy, and creamy white chocolate. It is a festive sweet-and-salty treat that is perfect for Halloween parties.

Ingredients

  • 8 cups popped popcorn (~1/4 cup kernels)
  • 2 cups Rice Chex Cereal
  • 1 cup gluten free pretzel sticks (I like Snyder’s GF)
  • 1 cup peanuts
  • 12 oz bag white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut or vegetable oil
  • 1 cup Reese’s Pieces
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • Halloween sprinkles (optional)
  • coarse sea salt (optional)
  • Edible eye balls (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  2. In a very large bowl, or divided between 2 bowls, combine the popcorn, Rice Chex, pretzel sticks, and peanuts.
  3. Place the white chocolate chips and coconut or vegetable oil in a medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, then stir. Continue microwaving and stirring in 10-second increments until completely melted and smooth.
  4. Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the popcorn mixture. Gently fold with a rubber spatula until everything is evenly coated. Fold in the Reese’s Pieces and candy corn.
  5. Spread the mixture in an even layer on the prepared baking sheets. Immediately top with Halloween sprinkles, coarse sea salt, and edible eye balls, if using. Gently press the mix-ins into the chocolate to help them stick.
  6. Let the snack mix cool until the white chocolate is completely set. Break into pieces as needed and serve.

Notes

  • Use coconut oil or vegetable oil to help the white chocolate melt smoothly.
  • Halloween sprinkles, coarse sea salt, and edible eye balls are optional but add a festive finishing touch.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container or resealable bags.
  • For gluten-free snack mix, verify that the cereal, pretzels, candy, chocolate chips, and decorations are certified gluten free as needed.
