Ingredients
3 cups sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup sour cream
3/4 cup key lime juice
1 tablespoon grated lime zest
1 (9-inch) prepared graham cracker crust
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Combine the sweetened condensed milk, sour cream, key lime juice, and grated lime zest in a medium bowl. Mix until smooth and well combined.
Pour the lime filling into the prepared graham cracker crust and spread evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 5 to 8 minutes, until tiny bubbles begin to appear on the surface. Do not allow the pie to brown.
Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool to room temperature.
Refrigerate the pie until thoroughly chilled and set, preferably for at least 2 hours.
Slice and serve chilled. Garnish with whipped cream and additional lime zest if desired.
Notes
Fresh key lime juice provides the most authentic flavor, but bottled key lime juice can also be used.
Regular Persian lime juice can substitute for key lime juice if necessary.
A store-bought graham cracker crust makes this recipe especially quick and convenient.
Avoid overbaking the pie. The filling should remain pale and creamy without browning.
Chill thoroughly before slicing for the best texture and clean slices.
Top with whipped cream, thin lime slices, or extra lime zest for an attractive presentation.
Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 4 days.
