These easy mini pizza bagels are a quick, cheesy snack made with toasted bagels, marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella. Perfect for after-school snacks, parties, or fast weeknight bites.

Ingredients

  • Mini bagels (plain or everything)
  • Tomato sauce (marinara or pizza sauce)
  • 1 cup (about 112 g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • Olive oil
  • Italian seasoning
  • Garlic powder
  • Optional toppings: sliced pepperoni, diced bell peppers, olives, fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Slice the mini bagels in half horizontally. If they are thick, gently hollow out a small amount of the interior bread to reduce sogginess.
  3. Lightly brush the cut sides of the bagels with olive oil.
  4. Spread about 1 tablespoon of tomato sauce evenly over each bagel half.
  5. Sprinkle a pinch of garlic powder and Italian seasoning over the sauce.
  6. Top each bagel half with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Add any optional toppings such as pepperoni, bell peppers, or olives if desired.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges are golden and crisp.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
  10. For freezing: assemble, freeze until solid, then store in freezer bags. Bake from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the bake time.

Notes

  • Do not overload with sauce to prevent soggy bagels.
  • Fresh mozzarella gives a creamier melt, while shredded mozzarella browns more easily.
  • These can be fully assembled ahead of time and frozen for quick snacks.
  • Serve with extra marinara sauce for dipping if desired.
