A simple and flavorful shrimp marinade made with fresh ingredients that enhances the natural sweetness of shrimp. Perfect for grilling, sautéing, or roasting in minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Add the shrimp and toss until evenly coated in the marinade.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for 15 to 30 minutes, avoiding longer marinating times to prevent the shrimp from becoming mushy.
  4. Cook the shrimp by grilling, sautéing, or baking until pink and opaque, about 2–3 minutes per side depending on size.
  5. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Do not marinate shrimp longer than 30 minutes due to the acidity of lemon juice.
  • Frozen shrimp should be fully thawed and patted dry before marinating.
  • Great served with rice, pasta, or salads.
  • You can substitute lime juice for lemon juice for a different flavor profile.
  • Add a pinch of cayenne for extra heat if desired.
