Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp balsamic vinegar (optional, for depth of flavor)

Instructions

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
  • Stir in tomato sauce and tomato paste, mixing until well combined.
  • Add oregano, basil, onion powder, salt, sugar, crushed red pepper, and black pepper. Stir well.
  • Let the sauce simmer on low heat for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • If using, add balsamic vinegar in the last few minutes of cooking for extra depth.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  • Let the sauce cool slightly before spreading on your pizza dough. Enjoy!
