Light and airy cloud bread with a soft, fluffy texture, perfect as a low-carb alternative to traditional bread.

Ingredients

  • 3 large eggs, separated
  • 3 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar or sweetener (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Separate the egg whites and yolks into two bowls.
  3. Add cream cheese, sugar (if using), and salt to the egg yolks and mix until smooth.
  4. Add cream of tartar to the egg whites and beat until stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently fold the egg yolk mixture into the egg whites, being careful not to deflate the mixture.
  6. Spoon the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet in small rounds.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden and set.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For a savory version, omit sugar and add herbs or garlic powder.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat briefly in the oven or toaster for best texture.
  • Handle gently as cloud bread is delicate.
