Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1 cup Halloween-colored candy-coated chocolates
  • 1/4 cup Halloween sprinkles
  • 24 edible candy googly eyes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the softened butter with the granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips, candy-coated chocolates, and sprinkles if using.
  7. Scoop portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
  8. Bake for 8–10 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden and the centers remain soft.
  9. Immediately press edible candy googly eyes into the warm cookies after removing them from the oven.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for several minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
