A refreshing classic margarita made with white tequila, triple sec, and freshly squeezed lime juice, served in a chilled salt-rimmed glass. Perfect for a quick and crisp cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 1 wedge lime
  • 1 teaspoon coarse sea salt, or as needed
  • 1 large ice cube
  • 1 cup ice cubes, or as needed
  • 2 fluid ounces white tequila
  • 1 1/2 fluid ounces triple sec
  • 1 fluid ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 slice lime

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients.
  2. Moisten the rim of a serving glass with the lime wedge. Spread the coarse sea salt onto a plate and lightly dip the moistened rim into the salt.
  3. Place a large ice cube in the prepared glass and chill the glass in the freezer until ready to serve.
  4. Fill a cocktail shaker with fresh ice. Add the white tequila, triple sec, and freshly squeezed lime juice.
  5. Cover and shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker becomes frosted.
  6. Strain the margarita into the chilled salt-rimmed glass over the large ice cube.
  7. Garnish with the lime slice and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use freshly squeezed lime juice for the best flavor.
  • Adjust the amount of salt on the rim to your preference.
  • For a frozen version, blend the ingredients with ice instead of shaking.
