Crispy, golden-brown Parmesan Crusted Chicken is a quick and delicious dinner recipe! Coated in a flavorful mix of Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, and seasonings, this easy pan-fried chicken turns out juicy on the inside and perfectly crunchy on the outside. Perfect for busy weeknights or a family dinner!

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (halved lengthwise)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (panko or Italian-style)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or butter for extra flavor)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken – Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness for even cooking.
  • Set Up the Breading Station – In one bowl, mix Parmesan, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In a second bowl, whisk the egg and milk. In a third bowl, place the flour.
  • Coat the Chicken – Dredge each chicken piece in flour, dip in the egg mixture, and then coat with the Parmesan breadcrumb mix, pressing gently to adhere.
  • Cook the Chicken – Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (165°F internal temp).
  • Serve & Enjoy – Let the chicken rest for a minute, then serve with lemon wedges, salad, or pasta.

Notes

  • Use panko breadcrumbs for an extra crispy texture.
  • For a healthier version, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes instead of frying.
  • Add a pinch of Italian seasoning for extra flavor.
