2 (29 ounce) cans sliced peaches, drained very well and roughly chopped
Instructions
In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and fluffy.
Add the sweetened condensed milk, instant vanilla pudding mix, cold milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until thoroughly combined and smooth. This may take a few minutes.
Gently stir in half of the whipped topping.
Place one-third of the Nilla wafers in an even layer on the bottom of a trifle dish, large bowl, or 9×13-inch baking dish.
Add a single layer of the chopped peaches.
Pour one-third of the pudding mixture over the peaches, spreading it evenly to cover them.
Repeat the layers two more times with the remaining wafers, peaches, and pudding mixture.
Top with the remaining whipped topping. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 to 2 hours before serving, allowing the pudding to thicken and the wafers to soften.
Notes
Drain the peaches very well to prevent excess liquid from making the pudding watery.
Use instant vanilla pudding mix, not cook-and-serve pudding mix.
For the creamiest texture, 2% or whole milk is preferred.
Chill for at least 1 to 2 hours before serving for the best texture.
