Ingredients
6 large eggs
Black food coloring
1/4 cup Duke’s Mayonnaise
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Paprika, for garnish
Instructions
Place the eggs in a saucepan, cover with water, and cook until hard-boiled.
Cool the eggs, then gently crack the shells all over without removing them.
Place the cracked eggs in water mixed with black food coloring and allow them to soak until a dark spiderweb pattern develops beneath the shells.
Peel the eggs carefully, rinse if needed, and slice them in half lengthwise.
Remove the yolks and place them in a bowl. Mash the yolks with mayonnaise and mustard until smooth, then season with salt and black pepper.
Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the patterned egg whites.
Sprinkle with paprika and serve chilled.
Notes
Crack the shells gently so the coloring creates thin spiderweb-like lines without breaking the eggs apart.
For a stronger web pattern, allow the cracked eggs to soak longer in the colored water.
Keep the finished deviled eggs refrigerated until ready to serve.
