A light and refreshing strawberry trifle layered with fluffy cake, sweet macerated berries, creamy pudding, and whipped cream. Perfect for gatherings and easy to prepare ahead.

Ingredients

  • 1 batch homemade vanilla pudding (or 1 large box instant vanilla pudding)
  • 2 pounds fresh strawberries (hulled and sliced)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 angel food cake (cut into cubes)
  • 1 batch homemade whipped cream

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the sliced strawberries and sugar. Cover and let sit for about 30 minutes to release their juices.
  2. Slice the angel food cake into three equal rounds, then cut into 1-inch cubes.
  3. Once the pudding is fully chilled, fold in 1 cup of whipped cream until smooth and combined.
  4. Assemble the trifle by layering cake cubes at the bottom of a dish, followed by strawberries with juices, pudding, and whipped cream. Repeat layers, reserving some strawberries for the top.
  5. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

  • You can use store-bought pudding and whipped topping for convenience.
  • Other berries like blueberries or raspberries can be added for variation.
  • Best served chilled; leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days.
  • Use a clear trifle dish to showcase the beautiful layers.
