Ingredients
6 Chocolate or Brown Cupcakes
Graham Crackers
2 Ounces Orange Melting Chocolate
7 Ounces Buttercream
2 Teaspoons Cocoa Powder
Brown Food Gel Color
Large Eye Sprinkles
Candy Corn
Instructions
Break the graham crackers into 4 smaller pieces.
Place a circle cutter over each smaller graham cracker rectangle and press it down over the edges to round them out. Prepare enough pieces so each jar has 3 graham cracker feathers.
Place the orange melting chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring between intervals, until completely melted and smooth.
Dip the rounded tip of each graham cracker into the melted orange chocolate. Scrape off the excess, place on parchment paper, and set aside to dry.
Add the cocoa powder to the buttercream and mix thoroughly with a spatula. This adds chocolate flavor and helps create a deeper brown color.
Add 3 to 4 drops of brown food gel color to the buttercream and mix until evenly colored. Avoid adding too much because the color will deepen after piping.
Transfer the buttercream to a piping bag, secure the end, and cut a medium-sized opening in the tip.
Place 1 cupcake into each clean jar. Pipe buttercream over each cupcake and smooth the surface with a spatula or knife. Insert 3 orange-tipped graham cracker pieces into each jar and fan them out to resemble turkey feathers.
Reheat the remaining orange chocolate if necessary. Dip the backs of the large eye sprinkles into the chocolate and attach them to the outer rim of each jar, holding briefly until secure. Dip the candy corn in the orange chocolate and attach it below the eyes to create the turkey’s beak.
Allow the chocolate decorations to set completely, then serve and enjoy.
Notes
Microwave the melting chocolate in short intervals to prevent scorching.
Use only a few drops of brown food gel at first, as the buttercream color will deepen after piping.
Make sure the jars are clean and completely dry before assembling the desserts.
Allow the chocolate decorations to set before moving or serving the jars.
