  • 7 large Granny Smith apples, washed, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 2 teaspoons white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter, room temperature

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350℉.
  2. Lightly grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  3. Wash, peel, core, and slice the apples into 1/2-inch thick slices.
  4. Arrange the apples evenly in the baking dish and drizzle with lemon juice to prevent browning.

  6. Dot the apple mixture with 1 tablespoon butter.
  7. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, 1 cup white sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
  8. Cut the 1/2 cup butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  9. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apples.
  10. Bake for 50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
